Trinity Episcopal School History Fair Guidelines
The Trinity Episcopal School History Fair is an exciting opportunity for students to study history and learn about issues, ideas and events. Students will be assigned a topic which they will research. After analyzing and interpreting their information, students will present their findings in a research paper and an exhibit (display tri-fold backboard). In addition, students will select to perform four minute dramatization in character or a four minute power point presentation.
- 6th Grade/World History students will work on: The Legacies of the Greek and Roman Civilizations
- 7th Grade/Texas History students will work on: The Legacies of Texas Cattlemen and Ranching
- 8th Grade/United State History students will work on: The American Civil War Battle Sites
Calendar of History Fair Events:
February 1, 2008: Topics will be assigned
April 11, 2008: Research papers are due
April 21-25, 2008: students will have the opportunity to work on their exhibits and presentations in the afternoons after a morning of standardized testing.
April 29, 2008: Exhibits and Presentations are DUE
Evaluations:
Historical Research Paper-two grades, one for English and one for History
Display Board-one grade for History
Dramatization-one grade for History
Power Point Presentation-one grade for History
Requirements:
Historical Research Paper (required for all students)
6th Grade: 800 words; 7th Grade: 1000 words; 8th Grade: 1200 words
Exhibit Display (required for all students)
6th Grade: Green Boards; 7th Grade: Red Boards; 8th Grade: Blue Boards
In addition, choose one of the following (required of all students)
Four minute dramatization in character or Four minute power point presentation
