Dear Parents,
During the holiday season, it has become apparent to review a few procedures, which allow for better student learning and safety. Please view the Parent Student Handbook for any questions you may have regarding school policy. An icon is located on the website for you to peruse.
Carpool procedures are found in the handbook on page 21. Experience has shown us that when children are dropped off in the morning, it is best to stay with the traffic flow and have them exit vehicles at the front doors. If a parent would like or needs to get out of the vehicle to say goodbye or walk their child inside, we ask they pull into the parking lot. Otherwise, traffic is delayed and safety may be jeopardized. Once inside the building, before/during/after school, parents are discouraged to have “quick” conferences with a teacher. Such a misuse of the School’s friendliness diverts the teacher from his/her classroom responsibilities and disrupts established daily morning procedures. A conference or visit may be set up through the front office.
Regarding dismissal, we ask that parents remain in the traffic flow. If a parent must come inside to receive their child, please park on Glass Street, enter through the church courtyard doors, and wait in the holding area located by the coffee bar and parlor rather than beside classroom doors in the hallway. Parents may view student work and bulletin boards after carpool dismissal when students have been safely loaded and accounted and hallways are clear.
Your cooperation is appreciated, as we make every effort to provide quality education in a safe environment.
