Admissions Process

 Admissions Policy

Trinity admits students on the promise of success while here, as well as on proven scholastic ability. Applicants have the greatest chance of acceptance who demonstrate a strong work ethic, a potential for growth, a positive, constructive attitude and a belief in the Christian community.

Trinity serves the child whose ability is average or above average and who is able to adapt to classroom routines. Teacher student ratios are kept low to provide each child with the opportunity to develop fully to his or her own potential.

Admissions Process

Interested parties should download and print an admission packet.  If you are unable to download and/or print a copy, please call the office at 361-573-3220 for further instructions. Admission packets are also available in the school office. Upon receipt of the admission packet, the “New Student Data Sheet” form should be completed and returned to the School office along with a non-refundable $100 registration fee. The $100.00  is applied toward the enrollment fee once accepted.

Trinity also has available tuition assistance through an online tuition assistance program. The T.A.P.s program provides assistance with the cost of tuition to those who may have a limited, or restricted budget, or resources to allocate to private school education costs. The online website is www.factstuitionaid.com . Please include this application when applying.

The following priorities exist when spaces are available:
Priority 1          qualified siblings of students continuing in the school
and qualified children of an Episcopal Church
Priority 2          qualified siblings or children of former Trinity students
            Priority 3          other qualified candidates

To ensure continued academic success students past standardized test scores, educational record and personal characteristics are reviewed to assure proper placement. Children applying for our pre-kindergarten classes must be potty trained and of the appropriate age for the grade applying by September 1st of the current school year.  Ex: K-3 must be 3 by September 1.

Four-year-olds and Kindergarten applicants come for a visitation on a scheduled assessment day during which they are observed as they are engaged in activities and get acquainted with the environment.

For student applicants for grades first through eighth, we require teacher recommendations from their current math & English teachers (forms are included in the admission packet), a current copy of their report card and we then assess the student with portions of the Iowa Test of Basic Skills as the final part of the admission process. We require all applicants’ admission test scores be at least at the median of the scores of the class for which he/she is applying.   An assessment fee is collected at the time of the assessment. $25.00 for K-4 & K-5 and $50.00 for 1st through 8th grade.

There are days scheduled in early spring to assess prospective students for the upcoming school year. Decision letters are generally mailed one to two weeks following the assessment.
